HiSoftware Downloads for UW and WTCS Web Developers

The University of Wisconsin System and the Wisconsin Technical College System have established a license contract with HiSoftware to provide UW and WTCS campuses with a set of web accessibility evaluation and compliance products. The Campus Web Council of Wisconsin has endorsed the HiSoftware suite of accessibility products, and has agreed to host this informational / download page for contract participants. The following HiSoftware applications are available under the contract:

Accessibility Software for Individual Web Developers:

AccRepair (2008 key codes now available)

AccRepair is recommended for individuals who want to detect and repair Section 508 and/or WCAG accessibility compliance issues on their web pages. Optional add-ons include Hi-Caption Studio (media captioning tool) and Link Validation Utility. Download the AccRepair FAQ Sheet 201K

Hi-Caption Studio (2008 key codes now available)

Interactive tool for creating captioning files for media files including Windows Media, RealPlayer, QuickTime and Flash. Download the Hi-Caption FAQ Sheet 154K

Note: Hi-Caption can be installed as a part of AccRepair, but is also available as a separate download for those who want to use it as a stand-alone product.

Accessibility Software for Campus Webmasters / Site Administrators:

AccMonitor Compliance Server (Accessibility Module)

AccMonitor is an enterprise/server solution for centralized management of accessibility compliance testing and reporting. This application is geared toward campus webmasters - individual web developers should coordinate with their campus webmaster to utilize a single instance of AccMonitor for each campus / major website. Instructions for downloading HiSoftware Applications

All HiSoftware applications are direct downloads from the HiSoftware website. To download under the UW/WTCS license agreement, complete the following form, using a valid UW or WTCS email address. Detailed download instructions (including key codes) will be emailed to the valid UW or WTCS address you provide.
